Certifications and Recognitions Having served Birmingham buyers and sellers since 1968, Ruth was elected in 1982 as the first woman President of the Birmingham Association of Realtors. Prior to that, Ruth served the Association of Realtors on its Board of Directors and in the elected offices of Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice-President. She was instrumental in the founding of the Association's Continuing Education Department, formulating the courses and requirements for continuing licensing of all Birmingham Area Realtors. She also served in every elected position in the Women's Council of Realtors, including the office of President. Ruth was Broker/owner of Village Realtors for 7 years and was also engaged in the general practice of law for 10 years. She served on the Mayor's Housing Task Force, Birmingham Regional Planning Commission, and many other city and area groups and served for 7 years on the Jefferson County Planning & Zoning Commission. Since 1993, Alexis has helped home buyers and sellers to make their dreams a reality. Since 1999, Alex has been a member of the Birmingham Association of Realtors' Club of Excellence,consistently maintaining sales in excess of $1,000,000 per year. Alex's excellent "meet and greet skills" come from her experience with USAir, where she worked with travel agencies in solving problems, organizing and escorting groups on trips in the States and abroad, and planning and organizing promotional activities. Her medical office and x-ray technician backgrounds served to fine-tune her attention to detail and devotion to service. Alex and Ruth are members of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce. Specialization Alex and Ruth specialize in representing their clients in the purchase and sale of single-family residences and income property within the cities of Birmingham, Homewood, Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Hoover and North Shelby County. They keep current with all transactions in these areas, and are also quite knowledgeable about the local schools Schools. Want to downsize? Ruth specializes in helping mature families downsize, and Alex helps the younger families move up to their larger homes. Personal Ruth is a Birmingham native, having been born and brought up in the local area. Her youth was filled with extra-curricular activities and organization centered around school and athletics. She graduated from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Alabama, with degrees in Psychology and English, and from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. After being a 20-year member of Vestavia Country Club, Ruth's current hobbies include having fun with her children, gardening, reading, learning Spanish, participating in fitness activities and volunteering with various youth programs and organizations. Alexis was born in California and returned to Birmingham at the age of 4. She attended Shades Cahaba elementary school, Gresham Middle School, and Shades Valley High School, going on to complete several courses at Jefferson State College. Her spare time is devoted to traveling, horseback riding, the Arts, and her love of qourmet cooking. |
